Sigiriya

You be climbing the rock fortress of Sigiriya – a 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky”. Built by King Kassiyappa the fortress was a Royal Citadel for more than 18 Centuries.
The Lion Lock is a citadel of unusual beauty, which has been declared by UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle. The base of the rock is ringed by a moat and rampart and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens. The majestic Lion’s Paw picturesquely guards the stairway of the palace on the summit.
See the famous frescoes of the “Heavenly Maidens” of Sigiriya in a
sheltered pocket of the rock and the 10 foot high Mirror Wall. The massive paintings are believed to be the largest in the world.

Dambulla / Kandy

In the morning, Chauffer will take you via Spice Garden in Matale.
You will be exploring the famous “Golden Rock” (Rangiri Dambullu) cave temple.
This pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this cave monastery by Buddhist
Monks, and the engineering & architecture that existed in 03rd Century B.C. a vast isolated rock mass with its five caverns is the largest best preserved cave-temple in Sri Lanka. The Buddhist mural paintings (covering above of 2,000 sq. meters) are of particular importance as well as the 157 statues, with a 13.4 Meters long statue of the recumbent Buddha.
And then on heading to Temple Tooth Relic in Kandy, in the evening you are at Cultural Dance Show, and later on Wood Carving.

Nuwara Eliya
Drive: Approximately 03:00 hours (80 km)

Negombo /Airport
